Main Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the sugar, buttermilk, and corn syrup. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and whisk in the baking soda and vanilla extract. The syrup will foam up, so be careful.
Let the syrup cool slightly before serving. It will thicken as it cools.
