Chakchouka Shakshouka Recipe
A delicious North African and Middle Eastern dish of poached eggs in a spicy tomato and pepper sauce.

Main Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 can diced tomatoes (400g)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 eggs
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and red bell pepper. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, and ground coriander. Cook for another 2 minutes.
Add diced tomatoes, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Make small wells in the sauce and crack the eggs into each well. Cover and cook until the eggs are set, about 5-7 minutes.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
