Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 clove Garlic halved
  • 1 cup Dry white wine
  • 8 oz Gruyère cheese shredded
  • 8 oz Emmental cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Kirsch optional
  • 1 pinch Ground white pepper
  • 1 pinch Ground nutmeg

Instructions 

  1. 1. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the halved garlic clove, then discard the garlic.
  2. 2. Pour in the wine and lemon juice, and heat until hot but not boiling.
  3. 3. Gradually add the cheeses, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.
  4. 4. In a small bowl, blend the cornstarch with the kirsch, then stir into the cheese mixture. Continue to cook, stirring, until thickened.
  5. 5. Season with white pepper and nutmeg. Serve with bread cubes or other dippables.
