Main Ingredients
- 250 g plain flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 300 ml warm milk
- 100 ml warm water
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
In another bowl, mix the warm milk and water, then add the yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until smooth. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and grease the crumpet rings. Pour batter into the rings and cook until bubbles form on the surface. Flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
