Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread cut into cubes
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Topping

  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup butter cold, cut into pieces

Instructions 

  1. 1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place the bread cubes in the dish.
  2. 2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Pour evenly over the bread.
  3. 3. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  4. 4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the bread mixture.
  5. 5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set. Serve warm.
