Fried Green Tomatoes Recipe

- 4 green tomatoes sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cornmeal
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
1. Slice tomatoes about ¼ inch thick.
2. Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs and buttermilk, and one with cornmeal, salt, and pepper.
3. Dredge each tomato slice in flour, then dip in egg mixture, and coat with cornmeal mixture.
4. Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Fry tomatoes until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
5. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
