Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ham diced
  • 2 cups Dried Beans soaked overnight
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 6 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper to taste

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large pot, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.
  2. 2. Add the diced ham and cook for another 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Add the soaked beans and water to the pot. Bring to a boil.
  4. 4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2 hours, or until beans are tender.
  5. 5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
