Instructions
1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.
4. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
5. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
6. Toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes.
7. Assemble the burgers with lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, and mustard. Serve immediately.
