Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 large carrots, sliced
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add the onions and cook until softened. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Return the beef to the pot. Stir in the paprika, caraway seeds, and marjoram. Cook for a minute to release the flavors.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes and beef broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 1.5 hours.
  5. Add the carrots and potatoes. Continue to simmer for another 30 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
