Ingredients 

Sopes

  • 2 cups masa harina
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil for frying

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine masa harina, warm water, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each into a ball. Flatten each ball into a thick disk.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook each disk for about 2-3 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
  4. Once cooked, pinch the edges of each sope to form a border. Heat vegetable oil in the skillet and fry each sope until crispy.
  5. Top with your favorite ingredients and serve warm.
