Ingredients 

Gyro Meat

  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a food processor, combine the onion, garlic, and all the spices. Process until finely chopped.
  3. Add the ground lamb and ground beef to the food processor. Process until the mixture is well combined and forms a paste-like consistency.
  4. Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish and press it down firmly to remove any air pockets.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Once cooked, let the meat rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly.
